Overview

Students looking to progress their playing in alignment with typical classical training will most commonly be assigned a warm-up, scale, etude, additional technical exercise, and solo piece(s) as they progress week to week. Students looking to get better but not in typical classical training method will be assessed and assigned what is necessary each week to fulfill their goals. It is expected that regardless of your choice of progression, assignments are respected and completed. As a facilitator of music, I can only do just that. It takes effort from both the teacher and student to make lessons effective and rewarding. 

 

Practicing

It is recommended and highly encouraged that students practice the length of their lessons each day at a minimum. Student practice expectations and assignments will be adjusted proportionally for students with home life challenges. 

 

Music, Instruments, Tools

Students are required to purchase their own music and have their own instrument at each lesson. Students are also required to have a metronome.

Cancellations

Scheduled cancellations require a 24-hr notice and a rescheduling of the lesson

I understand life happens. If for any reason you need to cancel a lesson that week please let me know 24 hours ahead of time to avoid losing a refund and to allow the ability to reschedule your lesson.

If a student cancels a lesson without notice, they are given the opportunity to make it up in the same week in person or via skype. Otherwise, they forfeit that weeks lesson without a refund. If for some reason I miss a lesson the day of without notice, it is the student's/parent's choice whether or not he/she would like to make it up or receive a refund. 

 

Payment and rates

Payments are made at the lesson. Lessons are to take place weekly.

30-minute lesson: $35/lesson

45-minute lesson: $50/lesson

60-minute lesson: $60/lesson

Home School Lessons

If a home school student takes lessons between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on a weekday, I offer discounted rates as follows.
